Barcelona winters are mild but damp, and cold flats are common: radiator balancing, air bleeding and heat-pump alternatives solve most comfort problems without a full system.
The cheap fixes first
Air in radiators (bleed valve, five minutes) and an unbalanced circuit (some rooms cold, others tropical) explain half of all complaints. Both cost one technician visit.
Electric alternatives
For flats without wet heating, modern electric radiators and split heat pumps (which double as air conditioning in summer) are the rational pair in this climate.
Community heating
Buildings with central heating decide temperature calendars in the owners' meeting — the classic October argument. Individual thermostatic valves are the peace treaty many communities sign.
